Cedar Ridge RV Center
night.

Modified # 99 in the DIRT Modified events
that night.
Carl failed to qualify for the feature event in time trials which put
him in the heat races to attempt to qualify. Carl finished ninth in
his heat race and finished seventh in the consolation race. Although
Edwards was going forward, neither finish was enough to earn a starting
position in the 100 lap feature. When offered a provisional starting
position Carl turned it down. Carl said if he didn't earn the position
he won't be racing.
Although
Carl didn't make the feature, the night was still a success with 100's
of people getting to meet Jack Roush and Carl Edwards. Because of the
busy schedules of the Nextel Cup drivers and
teams it is difficult for Nextel Cup drivers to compete in other types
of auto racing.
